Maha: Ramdev should be "slapped, kicked, and beheaded" for his misogynistic remarks

Mumbai (The Hawk): The adage, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," which is attributed to the yoga master Ramdev, that "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" was quickly coming to pass here on Saturday.

Ramdev's comments were viciously attacked by incensed political, social, women's, and farm activists, who called for him to be "slapped, kicked, and tonsured" from all angles.

Ramdev said, "Women look fantastic in saris, they look great in salwar suits, and in my view they look good even if they don't wear anything," on Friday at a free Yoga training programme for women in Thane, without batting an eye.

Ramdev Baba was surrounded by important individuals, including singer Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Bharatiya Janata Party's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena Thane MP Shrikant Shinde, who appeared to get carried away by the large assemblage of women.

Farm widows' leader Aparna Malikar from Vidarbha expressed amazement at Ramdev's remarks, calling them nothing less than a "revelation" of what goes on in his "filthy mind" and a warning to all women who come before him to be "extra-alert."

Senior Shiv Sena (UBT) members attacked Ramdev for his "outrageous" comments that disparaged all of the nation's women, including MP Sanjay Raut, MLC Dr. Manisha Kayande, and National Spokesperson Kishore Tiwari.

Why didn't Amruta Fadnavis simply stand up and slap him in the face? I have a question, Raut exclaimed, clearly upset.

The Dy was also attacked by Kayande.

She should have kicked him out and left the show, the CM's wife demanded, but astonishingly, she was grinning and appreciating Ramdev's statements "as if he was performing an honour to femininity."

A furious Tiwari slammed Ramdev for being "a pupil of the incarcerated perverts like Asaram Bapu and Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh," and demanded that the government take suo moto action against him.

"I want to invite Amruta Bittiya... Why did you remain silent despite seeing all of this? Did you also become overexcited when he began to compliment you? How do you feel about all of your sisters now? And why don't you criticise Ramdev Baba harshly?" Tiwari questioned politely.

"The entire nation had watched in the past how Ramdev had donned a sari and fled from the police in Delhi at night. How will he now escape the irate women? Kayande shouted angrily, "Will his relative and the crusading Amravati MP Navneet Kaur Rana bother to react to (Ramdev's) rude behaviour?

Mahesh Tapase, the chief spokesperson for the Nationalist Congress Party, criticised Ramdev's comments as being blatantly "vulgar and anti-women" and questioned why the state government was remaining silent rather than taking action on the matter that has infuriated women all over the world.

Social activist Trupti Desai claimed that Ramdev's public speech, which reveals how his mind views women, left her and other women "aghast."

"We condemn him vehemently. We want the state and national commissions for women to act immediately and suo moto take note of it; otherwise, Desai said, we'll storm his next event.

A furious Malikar demanded a full explanation and threatened to stage a morcha at the following Ramdev yoga retreat in Maharashtra when they would "capture him, tonsure him, and chop off his beard" as a punishment.

Through his Patanjali Yoga Peeth and Mumbai Mahila Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Ramdev, 56, organised a yoga science camp and women's meeting in Thane.

The interaction between the bearded yoga instructor and the women who were unable to change from their yoga clothes to saris is said to have drawn his attention, which led to a verbal spat that quickly turned into a large argument.

As he looked and complemented Amruta Fadnavis, Ramdev also asked the crowd to maintain their positive attitudes in order to live long and healthy lives.
